Silverthorne, Colorado

Silverthorne is the banana belt of Summit County.  Almost 1,000 feet lower than
Breckenridge, it is springtime in Rockies at least 2 weeks earlier than in the rest of Summit County. For the snowbound, Silverthorne is a repreive that locals use to their advantage.

The largest portion of Summit County population resides in Silverthorne and
the Wildernest areas.  Located centrally to the ski areas of Keystone Resort,
Copper Mountain, Arapahoe Basin and Breckenridge, it is the area of choice to
live for many Summit County locals.

A large percentage of the available real estate in Summit County is located in
these areas. From entry level condominiums to large ranchettes along the Blue
River, there is property for all tastes and price levels.  

The Silverthorne area extends from Lake Dillon to the county line by Green
Mountain Reservior and includes many ranches that follow the Blue River as it
heads to meet the mighty Colorado River.  Known for it's Blue Medal fly fishing,  the Blue River is also a great river to raft in the early summer.

Nearby is the Gore Range Wildernest area, which not only is spectacular to view,
but has tremendous hiking and camping within it's boundries.
